Target Practice using a Swing
Swings are an excellent way to incorporate soothing, organizing and sensory information.
For this activity, ask your child to sit on his or her belly on a platform or a similar type of swing. Then place about 6-7 empty containers around the swing, leaving enough distance for the child to move to reach the containers.
Give the child several small balls or bags of beans and explain that their goal is to place a ball or bag of beans in each container. This activity promotes body awareness, visual perception, coordination and muscle strength.
